Welcome to 3rd Avenue Marketplace, a gem nestled in the heart of Post Falls, Idaho. Located at 1215 E 3rd Ave, this community-focused establishment has mastered the art of providing not just nourishment but also hope and support for countless families. The marketplace goes beyond the typical food bank model, integrating a welcoming and vibrant atmosphere where everyone can find essential items and receive assistance without judgment.
One of the standout features of the 3rd Avenue Marketplace is its innovative approach to food distribution. Rather than simply handing out food, clients are empowered through a unique point system that allows them to choose what items best suit their needs. This method not only minimizes food waste but also creates a sense of dignity for those obtaining assistance. Patrons can step inside and "shop" for fresh produce, meats, and other household essentials, fostering a more personal connection to their food choices.
The atmosphere here is infectious. As Caleb Cox observed, the smiles on the staff's faces and the joy of the volunteers contribute to a remarkable environment. The community spirit shines through, particularly towards the homeless, who may often find themselves overlooked. At 3rd Avenue Marketplace, everyone is treated with respect and dignity; no one is left behind.
Customers rave about the freshness of the produce and the extensive range of goods available. Megan Mclellan highlights the community's reliance on this invaluable resource, expressing gratitude for how welcoming the staff is. The commitment evident in her words reflects that the Marketplace isn't just a place to receive; it's a cornerstone of the community where kindness and support abound.
Even in a challenging landscape, 3rd Avenue Marketplace stands out as a beacon of hope. With their focus on enriching lives through food access, they ensure that even those with limited means can enjoy nutritious and delicious meals. This marketplace has created a model that combines service with empathy, making it one of the best food banks in the area. As Brandon Gwyn aptly put it, you get to choose what you need, and that autonomy transforms lives.
If you or someone you know is in need, 3rd Avenue Marketplace is ready to help. They welcome individuals with open arms, ensuring that everyone leaves with not just food, but also a sense of belonging. The supportive environment combined with an outstanding selection of nutritious options creates a unique experience that truly embodies the spirit of community.
Join hands with them in fostering a culture of kindness and abundance. Your visit could brightens not only your day but also the lives of others in our beloved Post Falls community!

Love seeing the smiles on the staff faces. Amazing volunteers. My son has been volunteering here and he loves working with people. If you need food for yourself or family please come in and check it out. They also have other household items and access to other locations that help people in our area. Highly recommended for anyone in need!

Please disregard the review made by the mediocre white man who lives to complain just for the sake of complaining (check out some of the other reviews this ""man" has left for other establishments) this place is an invaluable resource in the community and is a lifeline for hundreds of families and individuals a week. They are welcoming and fun and incredibly helpful and accommodating. Its also incredible to see how helpful and caring they are to those in the homeless community (who are usually unable to provide proof of residency or income...) they also make sure that everyone who applies for services leaves with a box of emergency food. I have been going there weekly for almost two years Boe and I look forward to going just because of the atmosphere, employees, volunteers and incredible selection of food ,the produce specifically. I hope you review doesn't deter anyone who needs assistance from utilizing this incredible community resource. Also I adore Lori and have never seen anyone feel differently. You will love this place (especially since they don't force religious views to gain access to the program) and you will too!!

Great place! Best food bank ive ever seen. They give you points to spend each month to go towards food items. You get to pick out what you and your family will use. Also the bread and produce cost no points. Awesome place!

Best Food Bank I've ever been to. They use the point system by issuing X-amount of points to each eligible person. A single person was getting 100 points a month but now they get only 80. However, 80 points seems to be enough to last me a month. You go 'shopping' and pick out your own food , toiletries and other essential items that you like, want and will use. Much less waste that way. I love this food bank! A requirement for participating in the Post Falls food bank program is that you must live in Post Falls and be able to prove it document wise. They will, however, fix you up with a bag or two of food once or twice without documents. They also occasionally will allow somebody from a neighborhood close to Post Falls utilize their program under certain circumstances. So bring your identification and proof of residency with you when you show up here and that will help things move smoothly along and on your way to a non-empty tummy! Kudos to the Post Falls food bank!

Is the best food bank in our areas! Have specials! Great produce, many products, great meats! Staff our wonderful!!

This food bank's method of assistance is so dignifying. The household points system of allowing clients to go grocery shopping to select the items that best meet their specific needs is much more effective than other programs that hand out a generic one-size-fits-all food box. They also carry items that meet certain dietary restrictions such as gluten-free and vegan. It's a place where I want to volunteer my time because it has a positive impact on our community.

Great shopping even tho u use pointa

The volunteers here are pleasant and helpful. The services provided here are wonderful. The atmosphere at the center makes me feel welcomed and like I'm grocery shopping for my family instead of burdening someone for a handout. Thank you to the employees and volunteers! Add on: I just read the poor review and I have had a very different experience. When I was asked to reapply, Lori and Terry showed nothing but patience because I tried several times to send proof electronically and forgot a letter from my landlord. Even though I neglected to bring the current proof for several weeks, they still made sure myself and my child were taken care of, all the time with a pleasant demeanor and helpfulness. I can't say enough how thankful I am that I found this resource. I love the seniors that have lunch next door and have visited with some of the older ladies that like to sit on the bench in front of the marketplace. Everyone is welcome to their opinions but I've never had a problem. I did see how the staff reacted to an upset client, but the interaction was a positive one. They redirected the gentleman and still provided an excellent box of food. Please remember that many of these people are volunteers that are loving giving their time to help people in need of resources or companionship. As for the employees, they have gone out of their way to provide services to the same clientele in a caring, helpful way.
